Marlin 338MX

The Marlin Model 338MX is a lever-action hunting rifle chambered in .338 Marlin Express. According to the manufacturer, the Marlin 308 and 338 Express models are the only 300-yard chamberings available in a traditional, tubular-magazine lever-action rifle.

The 338MX has a shorter barrel than the 338MXLR and has an American black walnut with a pistol style grip. Otherwise it has similar features such as a rubber rifle butt pad, and employs an
adjustable folding rear sight with a front sight brass bead and
Wide-Scan brand hood. The 338MX also features side cartridge ejection, a hammer block safety and deeply blued metal surfaces.

Marlin recommends the Model 338MX for hunting large game at long-range.
