Ruger New Model Super Blackhawk Bisley Hunter

The Ruger New Model Super Blackhawk Bisley Hunter is a large-frame single-action revolver chambered in .44 Mag. and .44 Special. The Super Blackhawk Bisley has identical features to Ruger’s New Model Blackhawk Bisley, but chambers a heavier load.

What makes the Bisley unique to the Super Blackhawk series is that it has an extra long barrel, lovely Western-style laminated grips and integral scope mounts. It gets its name from the notable Bisley rifle range located in Surrey, England. Surrey is the current home of the UK’s National Rifle Association.

The name “New Model” is a reference to its transfer bar, which is a safety feature that allows users to carry the weapon fully loaded because the bar blocks the hammer from striking the firing pin if the weapon is dropped.

The Bisley Hunter features stainless steel construction and a barrel length of 7.5″. The Bisley Hunter is equipped with a rear sight that’s adjustable for wind and elevation, and a ramp front sight. The Bisley Hunter uses dual chambering, meaning .44 Mag. cylinders also accept .44 Special cartridges. And it comes with scope rings.

Ruger recommends the New Model Super Blackhawk Bisley Hunter for hunting big game.
