Super Redhawk Alaskan

The Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan is a medium-frame double-action revolver chambered in .44 Mag. or .44 Special, and .45 Colt or .454 Casull. the Super Redhawk Alaskan is a smaller barreled version of the Super Redhawk.

The Alaskan wouldn’t be a primary hunting revolver because it has such a short barrel, yet, it is also too big for self-defense, so reviewers often consider it a great sidearm to carry while on a hike or hunt in bear country.

The Super Redhawk Alaskan features an all-stainless steel construction with a 2.5″ barrel. The Super Redhawk Alaskan is equipped with an adjustable rear sight and a ramp front sight. The Super Redhawk Alaskan also employs Hogue Tamer Monogrip brand rubber grips and a 6-round steel cylinder. The cylinder is triple locking, which Ruger says ensures more positive alignment and dependable operation.

And it has a transfer bar, which allows the hammer to indirectly strike the firing pin because the transfer bar absorbs the impact and then presses against the firing pin. Lastly, it is capable of dual chambering, so .44 Magnum models accept .44 Special cartridges; .454 Casull chambering accepts .45 Colt cartridges.

Ruger recommends the Super Redhawk Alaskan for carrying and hunting in Alaska.
