Model 111 Lightweight Hunter

The Savage Model 111 Lightweight Hunter is a bolt-action rifle chambered in 6.5mm-284 Norma, .30-06 Springfield, and .270 Win. The Model 111 Lightweight Hunter is one of 14 rifles in Savage’s Specialty Series. Savage Arms was founded in 1894, and is headquartered in Westfield, Massachusetts.

The Lightweight Hunter features a matte black carbon steel barrel and an oil-finished walnut stock. Weight reducing features include a spiral-fluted bolt and a vented forend. Additional features include a detachable box magazine, swivel studs, and checkered grips and fore-end. The Lightweight Hunter also utilizes Savage’s AccuTrigger system. This inclusion features a dual-stage trigger design in which the first (vented) trigger acts to disengage a safety mechanism. Once this occurs, the second trigger can be depressed in order to activate the firing pin – the trigger assembly is also user-adjustable for weight of pull.

The Model 111 Lightweight Hunter is drilled and tapped for scope mounts. Savage recommends the gun for general hunting.
