SIG Sauer P220 SAO

The Sig Sauer P220 Single Action Only is a semi-automatic large-frame pistol chambered for .45 ACP. The P220 SAO is one of 15 pistols in the P220 family and is different in that it features a single-action only trigger with ambidextrous thumb safety. In addition, the SAO has a cold hammer forged barrel, meaning a machine carefully carved the bore grooves. The SAO offers a stainless steel slide with Nitron finish for increased durability. The frame is constructed of lightweight alloy and is hard-coat anodized and outfitted with a Picatinny rail for easy mounting of accessories. The SAO also comes with either contrast or Siglite brand night sights.

The P220 uses the same action as Browning’s Hi-Power pistol, which is a locked-breech system where the recoil is absorbed by a spring and guide rod rather than the frame.

Other features include the Sig four-point safety system. This system includes decocking lever, so shooters can switch from a double-action or single-action trigger. It has a patented automatic firing pin safety block and a safety intercept notch, which is an internal safety block, and trigger bar disconnector.
