The Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 380 is a compact pistol chambered in .380 ACP. S&W is the largest manufacturer of handguns in the United States. Headquartered in Springfield, Massachusetts, the company was founded in 1852 by Horace Smith and Daniel B. Wesson.
The Bodyguard 380 features a polymer frame, stainless steel slide, and polymer grips. Also included is a user manual thumb safety and grip extension. It’s finished in a black melonite coat. Melonite is a metallic mineral closely associated with nickel (technically, a telluride of nickel). The Bodyguard 380 also features a front blade sight and drift-adjustable rear sight. And it uses a six-round magazine.
S&W recommends the Bodyguard 380 for personal protection and law enforcement.
