The Smith and Wesson M&P15OR is a semi-automatic, gas-operated rifle chambered in 5.56 NATO and .223 Rem. Gas operated feeding systems capture gases released from the firing of a round, and use this energy to push the bolt rearward, thereby ejecting the spent casing and chambering a new round.  Smith and Wesson is the largest manufacturer of handguns in the United States. Headquartered in Springfield, Massachusetts, the company was founded in 1852 by Horace Smith and Daniel B. Wesson.

The M&P15OR features a 6-position telescoping buttstock and 30-round detachable magazine. The M&P15OR also includes an aluminum receiver. Chromed components include bolt carrier, chamber, bore, and gas key. The M&P15OR also a hard coat black anodized protective finish.The M&P15OR also includes a muzzle break for reduced muzzle jump and reduced felt recoil.
