The Smith & Wesson Model 686 ages well. It is the best thing to come out of 1980. The full sized stainless steel .38/.357 is one of the most accurate and reliable double action revolvers ever. With its six inch barrel, there is nothing subtle about the 686.
DeSantis makes solid leather holsters. Their Dual Angle Hunter is ideal for carrying oversized revolvers like the Smith & Wesson 686. If open carry is an option, the holster can be worn strong side.
