Ruger

The fourth largest firearms manufacturer in the United States, Sturm Ruger makes rifles (bolt, single-shot, semi-auto, auto), shotguns, semi-automatic pistols and revolvers. The Connecticut-based company has a history of helping fund the USA Shooting Team.

Ruger is perhaps best known for its .22 rimfire rifles because of the popularity of the Ruger 10/22. The semi-automatic rifle is noted for being well-made and less expensive than most of its competitors on the market. It features a flat buttplate, hammer-forged barrel and an aluminum receiver. The gun is a favorite of small-game hunters, and those looking for an economical rifle firing inexpensive ammunition for target shooting. The Ruger 10/22 is highly customizable with a variety of accessories and add-ons available.

Ruger was founded in 1949 and became a publicly traded company in 1969. In 1990, Ruger become a New York Stock Exchange company.
