Bargain Hunting: The SKS
"I have a Yugo SKS (with grenade launcher capability,) that has been "modernized" with external magazines.
It is still very accurate. I've shot a stock Russian no-grenade model a few times, and after I dialed in my sights on my modernized Yugo, I'm just as accurate. The only issue I have is with one of my 30 rd Tapco mags, I can never get the last round to feed. Wether I put in just a single, or load it to the full 30, the last round never feeds. Likely a problem with that one mag, though. Just like the Mosin-Nagant rifles, the SKS is a great cheap weapon. (Got the parts for my SKS for $150, "all assembly required".) The SKS is a *LOT* easier on the shoulder, though. " |
