On average we reach 1.5 million readers a month and we’re regularly cited by national news outlets such as ABC News, New York Times, Fox News, CNN, the Associated Press, just to name a few. We are currently looking for a full-time Political Editor to join our staff.
The Political Editor is responsible for managing staff writers, assigning stories, editing articles for style, grammar and SEO, and writing original news articles, blog posts and the occasional column.
The ideal candidate knows how to weed out the message among political rhetoric, and understands the history behind the 2nd amendment talking points. He or she must be able to find the right sources for information and ask proper questions. A working knowledge of firearm terminology and the fundamentals of marksmanship are a plus.
Requirements include at least 3 years experience in print or online journalism, a familiarity with AP Style, an understanding basic journalism formats, SEO best practices, and how to use web content management systems.
