The Ruger Old Army is a family of 44 caliber six-shot black-powder percussion revolvers. Manufactured from 1972 to 2008, the Old Army has a 5.5” or 7.5” barrel, adorned with either adjustable or fixed sights. Rather than imitating a historical design, the Old Army is a modified version of Ruger’s own Blackhawk. Users may also purchase and install a cylinder to convert the Old Army to fire 45LC cartridges.
