The Glock G19 Gen 2 is a semi-automatic handgun chambered in 9mm and built on a polymer frame with a few upgrades from the original Glock 19. The most notable change was the addition of the checkered front- and backstraps, as well as a later upgrade of an integrated recoil spring assembly. Additionally, steel plates stamped with serial numbers were added to the receiver in order to meet new ATF regulations. With the Gen 2 models, Glock also introduced several more models of varying calibers to appeal to an ever-growing customer base.
