Chambered in 9mm, the SIG Sauer P228 is a semi-automatic handgun and compact version of the P226 with a shorter barrel and slide than the P226. Made with a forged carbon steel slide, it has a 13+1 capacity, but P226 15- and 20-round magazines are also compatible with the P228. The magazine release is reversible for either left- or right-handed users and the tool-free disassembly makes for easy maintenance. The P228 is designated by the U.S. military as the M11 and is used by other militaries and law enforcement worldwide.
