The Marlin model 36 is the predecessor of the much more common model 336. One of the last models to feature the square bolt it was succeeded by the 336 which introduced the round bolt to the pattern. This example is the A-DL variation which features checkered stocks, The stocks on this rifle display some light handling marks but are in good shape considering their age. The action is still in excellent mechanical shape, the exterior of the blued surfaces have experienced some browning due to age and there is some slight pitting on the left hand side of the receiver but is free of any visible corrosion. The bore of this rifle is free of any pitting or corrosion and displays sharp and distinct rifling, this example is still fit for service as a collectable, heirloom, recreational, or hunting implement just as intended.
