The Ruger AR-556 is a semi-automatic modern sporting rifle with a milled gas block, a telescoping M4-style buttstock and ergonomic pistol grip with extended trigger reach. The flattop upper is forged from aerospace-grade aluminum, includes a forward assist, dust cover and brass deflector, and is hard coat anodized for durability, while the 16.10” medium contoured barrel is cold hammer-forged from chrome-moly steel for longevity and easy cleaning. Heat-resistant, glass-filled nylon handguards aid in comfort and durability, and the single-stage trigger, with enlarged trigger guard for gloved shooting, assists with reliable fire control. Rugged, reliable, and affordable, the AR-556 is chambered in 5.56 NATO/223 Rem and makes a suitable rifle for target shooting, home defense, hunting, and varmint control.
