Product Information & Specs

General Manufacturer Product Information

High condition, RARE Remington No.1 rifle cane long shaft chambered in .22 short with small dog's head handle. All original and fully functional. Shaft measures 36 1/2" from the bottom to where the handle starts to curve. Overall condition is great for its age with some surface scratches but no major cracks, chips or repairs. Serial number 1453 which is marked in three places, below the nickel silver collar, on the bottom of the shaft before it meets the ferrule and on the ferrule itself. All three numbers are matching, the number at the bottom of the shaft appears to have been mistakenly been stamped 1452 but was corrected by stamping a 3 over the 2 which is not uncommon for this period as I have seen it several times in the past on old Colt and Smith & Wesson pieces. There is also a date of 1872 above where the chamber separates where you would cock the rifle. It appears that the bore might have been rifled as I believe it shows a slight trace of the rifling left over but I could be mistaken. The bore appears dirty or oxidized but I did not want to attempt to clean it as I was afraid of damaging the shaft. Only 1750 rim fire canes were produced up until 1886 and I have seen very few .22 caliber ones come to market, Mostly you will see the larger dog head .32 version but those are also seldom coming to market.

PEACE OF MIND
PEACE OF MIND

Shopping at Guns.com gives you the backing of a company that is committed to your satisfaction.  And unlike our competitors, it extends beyond the buying process.  We get the FFL from your store – others make you find it, copy it, and fax it.  We have a generous return policy, and handle everything – you don’t have to go back to the store.  And our Rangemasters are here to answer all your questions about our products or process.  We're bringing a level of service to the online gun buying experience that is unheard of.

WE SUPPORT LOCAL GUN STORES

Many online gun sales actually take away from your local community.  Instead of buying a gun that’s on your local store’s shelf, most retailers drop ship it from a warehouse in another state.  At Guns.com, if an FFL is part of our network, we sell THEIR guns first whenever possible.  That way, we’re helping small businesses in your community AND if they have it in stock, you can pick your gun up IMMEDIATELY – it’s how business should be done.

WE KEEP IT SIMPLE
WE KEEP IT SIMPLE

Most everything can be easily bought online these days.  But for some reason, buying a gun online can be complicated.  Most websites are poorly organized, don’t tell you a lot about what you’re buying, and leave you on your own to figure out what you want.  Guns.com is built to be simple – easily organized products, useful descriptions from experts, and support to guide you to the right choice.  Spend your time enjoying the gun you want, not getting frustrated with a complex website that makes gun buying hard.
