Stag Arms Upgrades its Model 3 (Video)

Stag Arms announced earlier this year at the SHOT Show they’ve redesigned their AR-15 Model 3 Carbine. I don’t want to give you the impression they changed the action or anything like that because the Model 3 is already damn good and like the saying goes, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” But there’s always room for improvement.

The good people at Stag Arms told us they added an optics and accessory ready aluminum rail system made by Diamondhead, which specializes in AR accessories, to the Model 3 in response to customer requests for something modular and more durable than plastic handguards.

The Diamondhead V-RS (Versa Rail System) allows those with big hands to add bumpers on the sides.

Long or short rails on the top, bottom and sides.

So you can add a light, laser, scope, grip, or even a mirror—if that’s what you really want to do.

Too often it seems weapon manufacturers will add a Picatinny rail or change the color of model then call it a “modified version” and bump up the price about a hundred bucks. The coolest thing about the new Model 3 is that the price doesn’t change. Alone the V-RS costs around $109 and is now a standard feature on the Model 3, but Stag Arms will take the hit on that, which is mighty fine of them I must say. The MSRP will remain $895.

Needless to say, Stag Arms expects the updated Model 3 to be a big seller this year.
