California Man Disarms, Shoots and Kills Home Intruder

On Monday night a man in Antioch, CA disarmed and shot an intruder who tried to kick the door down while the resident was home with his 7-year-old son.

Acting police Lt. Diane Aguinaga tells the story:

“He just jumps the guy and realizes the guy has a gun,” Aguinaga said. “He somehow (got) it away from him” and shot the intruder three times in the torso, then called police, she said.

The man wrestled a firearm away from 18-year-old Jeremiah Stovall, who had a criminal history that included weapons violations, and then shot him three times in the torso. A 19-year-old woman who fled from the scene was also arrested. The woman was booked on suspicion of murder and may also face charges related to the intruder’s death. Investigators believe there was a third accomplice who managed to escape and that the Stovell’s group chose a home at random.
