Darrel Evans Sets Mulitple 600-yard UK Benchrest Records

At the 600-yard benchrest competition, hosted at England’s Diggle Ranges, which are notorious for difficult conditions, UK resident Darrel Evans set multiple UK benchrest records using an Accuracy International AW on Dec. 27.
The Accuracy International AW Evans used was chambered in 6.5×47 Lapua and was fixed with a custom 24-inch barrel. The barrel and a couple aftermarket bag accessories were all that had been altered on the mostly-stock military rifle system. Shooting his own ammunition consisting of 38.2 of Hodgdon Varget, 130 grain JLK bullet and CCI 450m primers, Evans set records for 600 yards factor sporter small group (five shots) with a 1.823-inch group, as well 600 yards light gun small aggregate (four groups) and 600 yards factored sporter small aggregate with a 2.839-inch group.
