Otis Technology Raises $40,000 for Two Local Charities

Otis Technology, a leading manufacturer of gun cleaning systems and accessories, has raised over $40,000 for two local charities: Fort Drum’s Family Morale Welfare Recreation (FMWR) and the Lewis County Humane Society.

Otis’ vendors and partners, along with Otis employees and dedicated local businesses came together for the 6th Annual Invitational Golf Outing for Charity on September 15, 2011 to raise money and awareness for the charities. In the months leading up to the Golf Outing, Otis employees and a newly formed Fundraising Committee at Otis Technology raised money through additional fundraising efforts.

Fort Drum FMWR provides soldiers and their families with all necessary needs as well programs, facility, activities and services to enhance their quality of life. Otis Technology presented a check in the amount of $27,500 to Brigadier General Kenneth R. Dahl Deputy Commanding General For Support 10th Mountain Division on behalf of Fort Drum’s FMWR.

The Lewis County Humane Society also receive $12,500 from the fundraiser to help improve conditions of their building, which is expected be complete by Early May.
