Waitresses With Guns: NC Senate to Vote on Restaurant Carry

The North Carolina Senate has received the green light for a committee to vote on a concealed carry bill for restaurants and parks.

This is the result of an aggressive letter-writing campaign in which grass roots voters called for the Senate to vote on House Bill 111. If passed, the bill would open NC parks and restaurants to concealed gun carriers. To ensure that the bill doesn’t get off track, the wording specifically mentions that the purpose of the new law is to allow families to protect themselves in restaurants.

After hearing this great news, a true movie classic comes to mind: Pulp Fiction. Remember that scene when the two robbers try to steal all the patrons’ money? Well, we don’t want to give away any spoilers, but let’s just say that Sam Jackson’s character and his Model B 9mm have something to say about that course of action.

Of course, this is all just the first step. We can’t be certain if the Senate will actually pass the bill. You can lend your support to the cause by emailing Senator Phil Berger and thanking him for fighting for the rights of North Carolina gun owners. Hopefully, he will be able to convince his colleagues of the need to permit concealed carry handguns in public restaurants.

Perhaps the most important thing to take out of this is to take note of how successful a grass roots campaign can be. As a voter, your opinions matter. If enough of us voice our opinions to our respective state representatives, then more pro-gun legislation is sure to makes its way to the Senate.
