Holder in Hot Water with House Over Fast and Furious Documents

Attorney General Eric Holder is in hot water as the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee may place him in contempt as part of the investigation into the failed Fast and Furious sting.

For those of you who’ve been living under a rock, Fast and Furious was a government operation to trace guns into Mexico in order to catch Mexican drug cartels red-handed. One slain border patrol agent later, the government realized that just maybe they botched the whole operation.

Holder has been on the chopping board ever since the House started looking into his actions, and now Holder might be in a whole new set of trouble. Darrell Issa (R, CA), the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, has sent out a document proposing that Holder be held in contempt as a result of his failure to work with the House during the investigation.

The House requested documents from 22 different categories, and Holder’s Justice Department only supplied documents from 10 of those categories. Despite the obvious failure to supply all of the necessary evidence to the committee, Holder claims that he and his department have been cooperating fully with the investigation.
