Smith & Wesson Raises $48,000 for Local Charities

Smith & Wesson made a sizable donation to two Massachusetts charities, the Shriners Hospitals for Children and Ronald McDonald House Charities. 

Money DonationSmith & Wesson employees raised a total of $24,000 through a variety of events, including a comedy club night, ticket sales, and raffles. The company graciously matched the sum, bringing the new total up to $48,000. The company presented a check for $32,000 to the Shriners Hospitals for Children and the remaining $16,000 to the Ronald McDonald House. 

President and CEO of Smith & Wesson James Debney was honored to make the donation, saying, “Through their tireless efforts and unwavering dedication, the Shriners Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House of Springfield have served as a source of inspiration and hope to thousands of families facing serious medical crises.”

Karen Motyka of the Shriners Hospital added that both organizations, “gratefully acknowledge Smith & Wesson for the outstanding support and partnership they have shown our organizations via the 2012 Comedy Night.” Smith & Wesson’s donations will go towards providing vital medical care and further developing the charities.
