SWORD International's Wolverine in 300 AAC Blackout

SWORD (Special Warfare Operation Research and Development) International is a weapons manufacturer founded by an ex-Ranger frustrated by the quality and dated manufacturing technologies used to make infantry small arms. Their goal is to develop weapons for military users and first responders, and anyone else who wants a quality firearm, that improves on the accuracy and reliability of the AR platform through modern manufacturing.

The result of that is the Wolverine, a gray and black tactical rifle with a collection of features not many can argue with. Chambered in the versatile 300 AAC Blackout, the Wolverine adds .30 caliber firepower to their existing 5.56/.223 catalog.

The Wolverine is built around your choice of a 16-inch or 9-inch barrel, which is shrouded by a Midwest Industries SS-series free float full-length rail. The barrel has a nitride finish and is free-floating.

The receivers are SWORD’s MK-15 mod 0-pattern, CNC-machined from 7075 T6 aircraft aluminum, with squared-off features and a redesigned shell deflector and integrated, enlarged trigger guard. The receivers will sport a gunmetal gray finish, although black and brown will be available for the 9-inch-barreled SBRs (short-barreled rifles).

Rounding out the features are its Hogue pistol grip, Ace M4 SOCOM lightweight stock, CMC Tactical straight trigger, custom Warfighter compensator and Wolverine and SWORD engravings on the magwell.

SWORD expects to get their Wolverine out by this summer. No price is listed, but the cost of the parts alone is about $1,000, not including their custom receivers. We will understand if this rifle comes with a price premium.
