Colt Sponsors Bianchi Cup's Speed Shooting Event and Donates $20k to NRA

The popular manufacturing company Colt sponsored the Colt Speed Shooting Event as the grand finale of this year’s Bianchi Cup.

The speed shooting event allows top shooters to compete to see who can hit five steel plates in the shortest time possible. Doug Koenig, the Colt Speed Shooting Champion, won the competition for the second year in a row.

Koenig was up against some stiff competition, because only the top marksmen of the Bianchi Cup were even allowed to compete. Only the top four finishers in the Open, Metallic, and Production divisions were honored with a slot to participate, along with the top four female shooters and two shooters from the Junior and Senior divisions.

Shooters from other Colt Speed Event categories took home a victory. For the fourth year in a row, Cowboy Mounted Action Shooting Champion Kenda Lenseigne won the Celebrity category, beating out Top Shot’s Iain Harrison and actors Marshall Teague (Armageddon) and Mark Christopher Lawrence (Chuck). Dianna Liedorff of Team FNH won the Sponsor category, Caleb Giddings of Gun Nuts Media won the Media category and Chris Cerino won the Top Shot category.

In addition to sponsoring the event, Colt donated $20,000 to the National Rifle Association to support “future sport shooting competitions and educating people about firearms and their safe use.”
