CT Dept. of Corrections Receives 160 Rifles from Local Stag Arms
The Connecticut Department of Corrections signed a 16-rifle deal with local gun manufacturer Stag Arms.
Stag Arms supplied 160 new Model 1 rifles to the CT DOC, replacing the organization’s older Ruger AC 556 models. These Model 1s include a host of new features that make them, as Stag Arms sales manager David Larson explains, “a perfect fit for the department.” It features a custom carry handle sight, a trigger guard modification to keep it functional in harsh Connecticut winters, and it’s one of the most accurate and durable rifles available.
Stag Arms and the state of Connecticut were both thrilled about this in-state deal. Tony Chapman, an officer for the CT DOC, said “My fellow officers and I look forward to utilizing highly reliable rifles and working with a CT company will certainly help to keep revenue in the state.” Stag Arms owner Mark Malkowski added, “This is an exciting opportunity for us – one which allows us to continue to create jobs, protect our local officers, and, at the same time, enables us to preserve manufacturing in the state of Connecticut.”
Rival gun manufacturers may be sour about the deal, but CT convicts are the group that’s most likely to be unhappy about the deal. After all, how would you like to have one of these bad boys pointed at you on a daily basis?
