hickok45 and the M&P Pro Competition Pistol (VIDEO)

The Smith & Wesson Military and Police 9 Pro Series is a large-frame pistol chambered in 9mm. The M&P9 Pro Series is nearly identical to the standard M&P, but offers a longer 5-inch stainless steel barrel, with an overall length of 8.5 inches.

The M&Ps features a stainless steel construction and a Zytel polymer frame, a wear-resistant material patented by Dupont. It’s finished in a protective black melonite coating, which is a metallic mineral closely associated with nickel (technically, a telluride of nickel). The M&P also employs three interchangeable palm swell sizes, a Picatinny under-barrel rail for easy mounting of accessories, and a trigger safety similar to whats found on a Glock, so the trigger must be depressed in order for the gun to fire. The M&P9 Pro Series employs Novak brand fiber-optic front sights, with Novak brand reduced glare rear sights, and employs a 17-round magazine.

And just recently, Smith introduced a new line of Pro pistols, the CORE Competition Optics Ready Equipment series, which are just bomber.

Smith & Wesson recommends the M&P9 for personal protection, law enforcement, and competitive shooting. For more info, check out Smith & Wesson’s product page.
