ESPN Explores Gun Ownership Among Professional Athletes (VIDEO)

Houston Astros outfielder Luke Scott: “An athlete gets paid a lot of money, and someone who is after that, a thief, a mugger or someone who steals from people, they are taking a chance with the law that if they get caught, they are going to jail or face some other problem.”  With a broad smile, he added, “In my case, you are going to get shot.”

ESPN’s Outside the Lines takes a look at professional athletes and guns.  With numbers being reported of upwards of 80 percent of NFL players owning guns, ESPN profiles a number of pro athletes who feel they have no choice but to arm themselves given their highly publicized personal lives and earnings.
