I think the lesson learned from this is “Don’t get shot in the head.” Really.

The guys over at The Firearm Blog did some back-of-the-napkin math that supports the notion that the helmet could have been helpful against 7.62x54mmR, but you’d have to be a couple hundred yards away or more.
