New Hampshire School Board Bans Dodgeball... Because of Sandy Hook (VIDEO)

‘Human target games,’ or dodgeball as it is commonly referred to by normal people, are now banned in all Windham, New Hampshire schools K-12. Citing bullying and children’s safety, the Windham School Board voted 4-1 in favor of removing the game from its physical education curriculum. “When I saw the names of some of these games, unfortunately guys, we live in a world where 20 babies were slaughtered,” Board member Stephanie Wimmer said. “We need to take the violence out of our schools and not teach it.”

Citing an internal study and recommendation by the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE) the school board banned nine other ‘human target games’ as well. “NASPE believes that dodgeball is not an appropriate activity for K-12 school physical education programs” and that “being targeted because they are the ‘weaker’ players, and being hit by a hard-thrown ball, does not help kids to develop confidence.”

Dennis Senibaldi the one board member who voted against the ban stated, “it was offensive to even put a tragedy like Sandy Hook in the same realm as dodgeball. They’re not even in the same universe. They are billions of miles apart. They are not even comparable.”
