Advocating gun control, media uses Al Qaeda propaganda as legitimate critique

In a resurfaced video that dates over two years old, Al Qaeda spokesman Adam Gadahn calls for wannabe American terrorists to exploit ‘gun show loopholes’ for use of personal armament.  More specifically calling for the procurement of fully automatic assault rifles which he incorrectly states can be obtained without a background check.

Somehow picking the video up this week and citing the same incorrect facts, a number of major news outlets in the United States tried to use the Al Qaeda perspective as a legitimate critique. Both CNN and MSNBC were burned by the use of the video, as well as online publications like Buzz Feed which NRA News’ Cam and Co specifically called out (video below).

Integrity in the news business can be hard to maintain when you rely on terrorist organizations propaganda in order to advance your own personal agenda.
