Bill Maher: 'The Second Amendment is bullshit' (VIDEO)

On HBO’s Real Time last night, host Bill Maher and guests David Stockman, Bob Costas, and Stephanie Cutter took up the issue of guns and the validity of the 2nd Amendment.

Maher called out liberals for not speaking louder in what he sees as a “center-right” debate. “Everyone on the left is so afraid to say what should be said,” Maher told his panel. “Which is, the Second Amendment is bullshit. Why doesn’t anyone go at the core of it?”

David Stockman, former budget director for President Ronald Reagan, weighed in agreeing with Maher adding that the idea of armed citizens rising in the face of the government is a modern day fantasy.

“People who believe in liberty, like I do, we’re up against a 21st-century state equipped with drones, hundreds of satellites in the sky, watching everything we do,” Stockman said. “Why would you believe that an 18th-century civilian militia equipped with the equivalent of muskets has anything to do with liberty? It doesn’t.”

And keep in mind in all of this, Bill Maher has claimed on many occasions that he owns a gun for personal protection.
