Omar Hammami, who is considered the most prominent American Jihadist alive, live tweeted an assassination attempt on his life today in Somalia.
The Alabama native was once apart of Al-Shabaab, a Somalia-based cell of al-Qaeda. He was a large asset to the group as a propaganda tool, until he denounced them and left over perceived corruption in 2011. Currently a free agent of sorts in the terror world, Hammami is wanted dead by Al-Shabaab. The U.S. government also has a $5 million bounty on his head.
