Fearing Kids COULD GET SHOT, Chicago School CANCELS Baseball Game (VIDEO)

Two public high schools in Chicago canceled a baseball game over the weekend due security concerns.

The second half of a day-night doubleheader on Saturday was cancelled by officials from Walter Payton College Prep High School when parents voiced concern that their children could get shot at Brooks College Prep.

“About three, four parents [came] up to me saying they’re not letting their kids go down there,” Payton head coach William Wittleder said. Elaborating on the issue, Brooks Prep’s coach, Herbert Redmond claimed: “The parents were in fear of their kids’ lives due to we being in the heart of the ghetto.”

Located in an economically depressed neighborhood, Brook Prep has been plagued by gang violence in recent years.
