Hot Mic Catches NJ Senators Mocking Gun Owners (AUDIO)

There’s nothing quite like a hot mic and couple of unsuspecting politicians mulling about for garnering honest soundbites and that’s just what happened at a May 9th New Jersey Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee hearing when state senators mocked gun owners after the meeting adjourned.

The legislators had just finished discussing new gun control measures when the hearing ended. Then a conversation that “appears to be among Sens. Loretta Weinberg (D), Sandra Cunningham (D), Linda Greenstein (D),” and an unidentified member of a senatorial staff, took place. It began by mocking gun owners who feared their firearms would be confiscated and ended with this choice piece of dialogue:

“We needed a bill that was going to confiscate, confiscate, confiscate.”

“They [gun owners] want to keep the guns out of the hands of the bad guys, but they don’t have any regulations to do it.”

“They don’t care about the bad guys. All they want to do is have their little guns and do whatever they want with them.”

“That’s the line they’ve developed.”

Who’s developed what?
