Two war memorials found vandalized in London with 'ISLAM' spray painted across their facade

It was discovered yesterday that two separate war memorials in London were vandalized at some point in the morning hours. As seen in the images below, ‘ISLAM’ was spray painted in red over the wall murals, as well as other elements being crossed out.

“At 5am this morning police discovered graffiti on both the RAF Bomber Command War Memorial in Green Park and the Animals in War Memorial on Park Lane,” a spokesman for Scotland Yard stated. “Royal Parks’ officers and Westminster police are investigating.”

The Bomber Command Memorial honors the 55,573 Royal Air Force servicemen that died in World War II. The Animals in War Memorial is dedicated to all the animals that perished in the wars of the 20th century.

There has been no connection made between this incident and last weeks beheading of a British soldier.
