Pastry Gun Boy Given NRA Membership

PopTart

You might remember the Maryland boy who was suspended for biting a Pop-Tart into the shape of a gun — well, he’s been offered a lifetime membership to the National Rifle Association.

The 8-year-old was a presented the membership at a fundraiser on Wednesday night, just a few months after his Anne Arundel County school suspended him for munching the pastry into the vague shape of a pistol.

The assault tart in all its glory.

House Minority Leader Nicholaus R. Kipke presented an autographed picture of himself with David Keene, past NRA president and the $550 membership to Josh Welsh – who said he didn’t know what the NRA was, but felt pride in knowing he was the only one in his family to have the membership.

The Welsh family are currently working with lawyers to remove the two-day suspension from their son’s record, but the school is quite adamant about its zero tolerance gun policy.
