Instant Karma: Man Shoots Wife, Breaks Neck in the Process
A man who allegedly shot his sleeping wife in the face only managed to break his neck in the process.
The 49-year-old man from Florida allegedly shot his wife in the face at point blank range around 11:49 pm, but the blow “didn’t render her unconscious.” According Police Chief Michael Radzilowski, Steven Pinel had “an issue” with the gun and was unable to continue firing the weapon.
Luckily, Pinel’s wife was able to escape and her injuries were not life-threatening. But the shooter, sporting only his skivies, allegedly fled the scene and subsequently crashed his vehicle in a ditch – breaking his neck in the process.
Pinel also allegedly tried to carjack a vehicle who stopped to help him, but failed due to the woman’s refusal to hand him her keys. Manatee County Sheriff’s spokesman Dave Bristow said Pinel was arrested later that night and charged with attempted murder, domestic battery and carjacking.
