New Vortex Optics Viper HS-T 4-16x44 Riflescope (VIDEO)

Vortex Optics Viper HS-T 4-16x44

Vortex, manufacturer of tactical riflescopes and red dot sights, is adding a new 4-16 power scope to their line-up. This scope comes with the sort of features you’d expect from a high-end optics company but is surprisingly affordably-priced.

While Vortex optics look right at home on ARs, the Viper HS-T 4-16×44 will work with any rifle that provides four inches of eye relief and is fit with 30mm scope rings.

This versatile scope can be used for any long-range shooting applications, including hunting, target shooting and tactical shooting.

The new Vortex Optics Viper HS-T 4-16×44 riflescope will be offered with the option of one of two reticles, one with a more-or-less standard MOA-marked crosshairs and the other with Vortex’s MRAD (milliradian) reticle.

The retail price for this optic is $659, compared to close to $1,000 for similar scopes from Vortex that offer many of the same features like the Viper PST. (They do also offer somewhat less expensive vanilla Vipers for under $500.)

Like most of Vortex’s glass, the scope is built on a single-piece tube that’s machined from a solid block of aluminum and uses low-dispersion glass to ensure good light and color transmission. It’s sealed up and purged with nitrogen to prevent fogging and promote clarity.

It is waterproof, fogproof and shockproof, with a hard-anodized tube that’s also finished with an ArmorTek coating to make it scratch-resistant.

And it uses Vortex’s Customizable Rotational Stop (CRS) turrets that you can lock your zero into to make returning to zero foolproof.

Vortex expects these to be available later this summer, hopefully by the end of July but possibly sometime in August.
