The cased .38-caliber Smith & Wesson revolver allegedly used by NFL player Aaron Hernandez was found in the trunk of 19-year-old Jaliene Diaz-Ramos’ car after she crashed near Springfield, Massachusetts last June.

In July of 2012, two immigrants from Cape Verde were murdered outside a Boston night club after Hernandez and his posse engaged them in a physical altercation.

After the firearm underwent ballistics analysis, it was determined the fatal rounds recovered from the bodies of 29-year-old Daniel Jorge Correia de Abreu and 28-year-old Safiro Teixeira Furtado, were fired from the barrel of that weapon.

Diaz-Ramos claimed the gun belonged to a friend of hers, but refused to identify him, calling him only, “Chicago.” Diaz-Ramos said she was giving her football playing friends a ride to work and they must have left it in her car.

Police started tying Hernandez to the night club case after he was arrested in June and charged with the murder of 27-year-old semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd.

Police have not yet located the .45-caliber Glock that was used in that murder.

Hernandez is currently in jail and faces charges for the murder of Lloyd. Hernandez has pleaded not guilty and has hired on two hard-hitting criminal defense lawyers to defend his case.
