Gritty, wartime video emerges of soon-to-be Medal of Honor recipient Will Swenson (VIDEO)

Former Army Captain Will Swenson will be awarded the Medal of Honor on October 15, coming 4-years after his incredible acts of heroism while under heavy enemy fire where he repeatedly led U.S. forces through a nightmarish ambush in Afghanistan.

Swenson, an embedded trainer working with an Afghan Border Police mentor team on September 8, 2009, repeatedly faced a maelstrom of fire to help U.S. forces get out of a kill zone, having also aided in recovering the slain bodies of four military advisers who were killed during the ambush.

This new, raw video released by the U.S. Army, gives a small glimpse into the living hell Swenson experienced while putting himself at risk to save lives and collect the bodies of slain soldiers.
