NRA’s Billy Johnson says most mass shooters were victims of domestic violence (VIDEO)

NRA News commentator Billy Johnson talks about the root causes of mass shootings, saying what many of these incidents have in common is domestic violence.

Johnson said, “According to a report from the USA Today, approximately 900 people have died in mass shootings since 2007. Of those, a majority were killed by someone the knew. Even the rabidly anti-gun Mayor [Michael] Bloomberg can’t deny the connection.”

Johnson made a call to action, saying the issue of domestic violence can no longer be ignored.

Johnson said that Bloomberg’s coalition of Mayors Against Illegal Guns released an analysis of 56 mass shootings, and 60 percent of those involved or began as domestic violence.

Narrowing his sights on domestic violence and the resounding impact it has on children and families, Johnson said, “It’s time we stop talking about AR-15’s and start talking about real threats.”

Admitting that he doesn’t have a “silver bullet” to solve the issue, Johnson makes a call to action, saying “we can no longer avoid this issue.”
