Alan Korwin: 'If you know what your rights are you might demand them' (VIDEO)

At SHOT Show 2014 we ran into Alan Korwin, the owner of Bloomfield Press, the author of 14 books, and the administrator of Gunlaws.com, a comprehensive resource for all things pertaining to, well, you guessed it, gun laws across the country.

Korwin’s message to the gun community was rather clear and could be summed up in two words: Get educated!

Of course, he was way more articulate than that, as you’ll see if you watch the video. Here are some of the highlights:

“I think the Second Amendment is in real jeopardy today, and I think one of the ways to preserve it is to get the education level of gun owners up as high as we can get it,” Korwin explained.

“A lot of gun owners don’t understand what they can and can’t do with guns,” he continued. “And the better educated they become, the safer we all are.”

“The free market has to move in and train people whether they own guns or not in gun safety, in gun use, and the proper legal ownership of firearms because if you know what your rights are you might demand them,” he added.

All I can say is amen, brother.

Korwin’s a solid guy and I’m glad I had a chance to briefly chat with him. We’ll hopefully run into him at the NRA exhibit this year for some more edification on how gun owners can become more informed on the issues that matter most to us.
