L.A. gangbangers surface in Syria to fight against rebels (VIDEO)

Two gang members from Los Angeles based gangs travelled to Syria to join forces with President Bashar Assad.

“Wino,” from the Westside Armenian Power gang, and “Creeper,” from the Surenos gang, identified themselves on camera before firing into the countryside at hunkered down rebels.

“Still pure Surenos putting it down, homie,” Creeper said. “In Middle East, homie, in Syria, still gangbanging, not giving a fuck, homie.”

The men declare they’re part of the “front line,” and are clad in military garb. And while it may seem unlikely two gang members from the U.S. would travel so far to fight in a war not their own, Rafael Green of the Middle East Media Research Institute agrees they are almost certainly in Syria.

“I’m pretty sure that they’re in Syria; I have no reason to believe they’re lying,” said Green. “The pictures show [Wino] with guns and grenades and he’s even photographed in the Hezbollah uniform. It seems as authentic as it gets.”

MEMRI was able to identify Wino as Nerses Kilajyan and said according to his Facebook page, he may have been in Syria since December of 2012.

Green commented that the men appeared to be unfamiliar with their rifles and said it was likely they were well paid for being there, but also be fighting because they hold anti-American viewpoints.
