Senate hopeful Paul Broun (R-Ga.) offered free AR-15s and 1911s during his campaign to run for the Senate.

The offer is part of a raffle and anybody willing to sign up on his U.S. Senate campaign email list has a chance to win “a Colt Marine Corps 1911 Rail Pistol” or “a Colt Magpul 6920 Flat Dark Earth with an Aim Point Optic and Sure Fire tactical flashlight,” Opposing Views reports.

Broun announced the giveaway on his website Wednesday and according to Huffington Post, he also sent out an email to his supporters.

“Barack Obama is finally feeling the heat of his failed policies, and he is grabbing at straws to get more friends in Washington,” the email read. “That is why Barack & Michelle Obama, Harry Reid and the Washington Democrat machine are ferociously working to get my opponent elected to the Senate. … One of the first changes they will make is to take away our 2nd Amendment rights.”

“It’s no secret that the Democrats and liberal media would love to take away our guns and mandate every aspect of out lives,” the letter continued, “but I refuse to let them get away with that.”
