Police impersonator opens fire on homeowner (VIDEO)

A Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, man who was impersonating a police officer opened fire on a homeowner, striking him several times before fleeing in a vehicle Wednesday.

A man who was impersonating a police officer knocked on attorney David Zacks’, 57, residence and asked to be let into his home, and when Zacks’ refused, the suspect shot through the closed door, striking the victim several times, Fox reports.

Chief David Hendrickson said the shooting took place late Wednesday night near Lahser and Hickory Grove roads. Zacks sustained several gunshot wounds and was transported to an area hospital, where he was said to be in stable condition.

After the gunman opened fire, he fled in a dark-colored vehicle. Hendrickson said the shooting was not random, but would not elaborate.
