Wilson Combat is considered by many to be the first, last and best name in 1911s. While there are tops when it comes to AR-15s, Remington 870s and as of late, Beretta 92s, when it comes to 1911 pistols, thereâs no doubt that theyâre first in their class.
And theyâre taking things to a new level with the announcement of a new Supergrade-series pistol, the aptly-named Pinnacle.
The Pinnacle is based on Wilson Combatâs Classic Supergrade with a âfull suiteâ of options specially selected by Bill Wilson himself, including hand engraving and a deep, rich polished blue finish.
The engraving is performed by Wayne DâAngelo, who is the former chief engraver for Smith & Wesson and continues to work as a contract engraver for Colt. DâAngeloâs own design is used for the Pinnacle pistols.

These guns are hand-fitted and assembled part by part by Wilson Combatâs expert pistolsmiths and engraved with a timeless scroll pattern. The guns are just as functional as they are nice to look at, though.
Every Pinnacle pistol is meant to be a shooter. Even though the guns are customized with a blued steel medium trigger, spiral-fluted guide rod and custom burled walnut grips, they also have fully-adjustable target sights with a gold dot bead up front, a tuned 3 1/2- to 3 3/4-pound trigger and have exact 40 line-per-inch checkering on the front- and backstraps for complete control over the pistol.
The slide has a 30 line-per-inch flat matte topstrap to eliminate glare and make the front sight stand out, and a full-length 5-inch match barrel thatâs hand-fit, including the barrel bushing, for utmost accuracy. The barrel is flush-cut and reverse-crowned.
Every Pinnacle pistol is guaranteed to make 1-inch groups or less at 25 yards.
Other shooterâs features include the installation of the single-piece âBullet Proofâ Wilson Combat flared magwell for fast reloads and a Bullet Proof slide stop and mag release for maximum reliability.
Every Pinnacle pistol comes in its own walnut display case and includes a certificate of authenticity.
Wilson displays the Supergrade Pinnacle with a stack of Gold Eagle coins, which is appropriate, as the base price for the pistol is $7,995. This gun is the best of the best and is priced accordingly.
Pinnacle pistols are only available through Wilson Combat. For more details and specifications, head over to the Pinnacle pistol product page.
