Your brain on guns: brainwave activity while shooting (VIDEO)

In this video pistol athlete Teresa Chambers works with United States Olympic Comittee psychologist Lindsay Thornton, to observe her brain activity and muscle response while shooting to track what happens, deep down, when a shooter lets loose that perfect, just perfect shot.

You don’t have to be an Olympic-grade target shooter to recognize that feeling when your brain stops analyzing and observing and just shoot. You don’t even have to be a shooter, you get that feeling whenever you do anything just perfect, whether it’s driving, playing sports, video games … there’s a sweet spot where you brain lets go and your body simply does.

It takes a lot of practice to get there. What’s the rule? Ten-thousand hours (give or take)?
