Craigslist robber holds seller at gunpoint, steals $3,250 ring

A Pennsylvania man responding to a Craigslist ad held the seller at gunpoint and stole a men’s ring worth $3,250 Monday.

The robber called the seller and said he first wanted to see the 14-karat gold ring with diamonds before purchasing it. He met the seller at his East Hampfield Township apartment around 9:10 p.m. and while negotiating for the price, the suspect pulled out a gun, Lancaster Online reports.

The robber — described as a white male in his mid 30s, 5-foot-8, clean shaven and with dirty-blonde hair — fled with the ring.

East Hempfield Township Police Lt. Tammy Marsh advised against making transactions with strangers.

“It is not advised to meet privately with or allow in your home anyone you don’t know,” Marsh said.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call the Lancaster City/County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-322-1913.
